Simple arrival, short distance to walk

Bern is reached by train from Zurich, Basel or Lucerne in less than an hour. With a car the journey lasts about as long but the actual travel time depends on traffic. The same is true for the journey from French Switzerland. Coming from Geneva you can usually reach the federal capital in less than two hours. By train it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Once in Bern, public transport is the most convenient and quickest means of moving from A to B.
